I love color and experimentation which is why collage appeals to me.  My original medium was soft pastels which I worked in exclusively for a number of years.  But once collage caught my eye, that’s where I wanted to focus my time and energy.  The medium allows me to try new ideas, techniques and papers and affix them to a variety of surfaces. Subjects include landscapes, animals and florals which are rendered in an impressionistic style.  Many collage pieces are fabricated from rice or similar type papers, which come in a variety of textures.  Some I hand paint to achieve just the right color combinations.  Other pieces utilize papers out of discarded books or magazines and even maps and atlas pages.
